Great news on gigs as of late. I’ve been playing most Mondays on board the Fury’s sunset cruise. The gig is great, and my song “All Of This Way” has been the perfect anthem for when the sun goes down.
Hawk’s Cay is located on Duck Key, and was just voted by Travel & Leisure magazine as the #2 top rated resort in Florida, and #32 in the entire U.S. and Canada. The resort was renovated last year, and it’s really incredible. I’m proud to be performing there on a regular basis.
During Fantasy Fest week, I’ll be playing my weekly Tuesday at Sloppy Joe’s, and I’ll also be at the Casa Marina poolside from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.. We’re still in the midst of confirming a location for the band on Fantasy Fest weekend… stay tuned.
It’s been a few years, and I’m really excited to be playing at Cocowalk in Coconut Grove on Sunday, November 1st. I’ll be playing from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.. Cocowalk is a cool outdoor shopping venue that features live music and sidewalk artists. Come and check me out if you are in the area!
More news on where to find me in Key West during Meeting of the Minds in a bit…

Once again this year my song “Theresa Turtle” will be featured in the Underwater Music Festival held out at Looe Key on Saturday, July 11th. Thanks again to US-1 radio for including me!
I’ve got a new local gig happening these days. I’m performing at the beautiful Casa Marina twice a month at the Sun Sun Bar. If you are in Key West you have to check out the Casa- they just finished a multi-million dollar renovation, and it’s beautiful.
Check out my schedule and join me at one of my gigs!
If you are on Facebook or Twitter, look me up…

I had the distinct pleasure to sit down with 92.7 WEOW morning show host Rude Girl yesterday for a few minutes. This interview also includes a very special guest- my daughter Andie Rose.
Listen to the interview here.

This year is just flying by- the Holiday Season is quickly approaching (if you go into any Walgreen’s it’s already been here for weeks) and great things are happening. Looks like you’ll be able to hear “Santa’s Headed for the Keys” on some internet radio stations this month. Check out www.permanentradiovacation.com and listen for my song in their rotation!
Glad to say my throat is doing a lot better. A combination of a lighter schedule, accupunture, Chinese herbs, and some serious coaching from Brett Manning has done me a world of good. Brett is one of the judges on CMT’s “Can You Duet” program. I went to see Brett in Nashville back in September, and it really helped me out.
Christmas Music is available here on my website via paypal, or on itunes. It’s the perfect Holiday gift! Click on my store link above to order.
Lastly, don’t forget to join me every Tuesday at Sloppy Joe’s from 12-4:45 p.m.- you can watch my entire gig on the Sloppy Cam! Give the bar a call and I’ll give you a shout out live on the net!

Happy Independence Day Weekend! I had the pleasure of singing the National Anthem at the Lower Keys Rotary July 4th celebration on Friday night. The crowd was huge, and the Fireworks were pretty intense this year. Thanks to all who came out.
Unfortunately, I had to cancel my gigs in Put-In-Bay this month. I was really excited about going. We’ll try for next year. It seems like a really great place to play. I’ve developed a nodule on my left vocal cord. Singing five, six, sometimes seven nights a week for years has taken it’s toll on me a bit. My doctors tell me that I need to slow way down, so I’ll only be playing one or two gigs a week for the rest of the summer. If I don’t deal with this, it could be a real disaster for my career.
I’m glad to report that my music is being featured in a new fishing show called “Reelin’ in the Keys” featuring Cal Sutphin. Cal came down to Sloppy Joe’s last month to interview me and tape some of my live show as well. The program is set to launch on several cable networks in early 2009. I’ll let you know when and where to catch it.
Also, my guestbook is now working properly again. We had a bug that’s finally been worked out. Let me know you were here!

Life here in the Keys is just glorious- aside from having the flu a few weeks ago, all is well. You can watch me Tuesday afternoons at Sloppy Joe’s onlline, and soon you’ll be able to watch me at Parrotdise. They will have a webcam in a few weeks. I’ll let you know when they are up and running.
I’ve joined a really cool website called MeetthePhlockers.com recently. This incredible site is growing by leaps and bounds and is a lot of fun. I’ve met some really great people, and hope to see them in person here in Key West this year. Check it out if you are a fan of “Trop Rock”.
I’ve got a few new videos of me playing live at different venues here in the Keys on my Youtube channel. Become a subscriber to my channel if you have an account! I’m posting new videos monthly.

Well, the gig at the Monroe County Fair went really well. Too bad if you couldn’t get there to see the group. The horns were right on as usual. We’ll be doing the same line up for July 4th.
Looks like I’ll be on the road a bit this summer. I’ll be performing in Put-in-Bay, Ohio in July. Details to follow…
On a sad note, a friend of mine named Matt Grimes passed away last week. Matt was one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. He was a deejay on 104.1 US-1 Radio here in the Keys, and a bartender at Sloppy Joe’s as well. We just started playing onstage together on Tuesday afternoons- the staff and crowd really loved it. Matt was only 34, and had everything going for him. I know wherever he is, he’s o.k., but we’re all still hurting.
January 25, 2008
Hey join me at Parrotdise on Little Torch Key tonight from 6 p.m. til 9 p.m. Great place with an awesome view of the water and awesome staff! Tomorrow I’ll be in Key Colony Beach at Cabana Breezes from 7 p.m. til 10 p.m.- another great spot here in the Keys.
Next month my band will be perfoming at Virgillio’s on Febuary 2nd, The Curry Mansion on the 14th for the annual Wesley House fundraiser, and The Monroe County Fair on the 17th. Check out my calendar for my full schedule!
December 29, 2007
Happy New Year! You can catch my band The Prime Movers live on New Year’s Eve at Slopppy Joe’s in Key West from 5:30 til 9:30. If you are not in town, you can watch live on the Sloppy Cam.
I’ll be continuing my weekly Tuesday afternoon gig at Sloppy Joe’s as well from 12:00 til 4:45. Let me know if you watch!
December 3, 2007
If you are in the Marathon area December 8th (this Saturday) don’t miss the Lighted Boat Parade! Join me at The Dockside from 7-11 p.m. if you want to check out the parade from the coolest bar in town. The Dockside has been around forever, and only seems to become more hip as time goes by- great food and drinks, and awesome staff. You won’t have a better seat to view the parade!
November 14, 2007
I’ll be performing on US1 radio this Friday at 10 a.m. during the Biz Baz break. I’ll be joining Leigha Fox and Owen Cash, and singing one of my songs- “Not Forgotten” for my friend Capt Dan McLaughlin who passed away this week. Capt. Dan was from New Jersey, but had been in the Keys forever. He owned the Key Deer Bar & Grill here on Big Pine Key, and was a NASCAR driver years ago. Our photo has been on my media page for a while- he struck a pose with me on the stage staircase at Sloppy Joe’s. Dan was not only a great guy, but a real supporter of local live music. He will be missed…

Man has this year gone by quick. We’re about a week away from being back in our new home. 2007 has been absolutely crazy. Although I’ve performed here in the Keys as much as ever, I haven’t been able to keep up with promoting my music as much. That is definately going to change in the next few weeks or so. Man- I’ve only written one song this whole year. That’s o.k., because “Theresa Turtle” is an absolute blast to play live, and people really dig it. I guess I’d rather have one good song this year than none. I do have a few interesting things to report:
I now have really cool “BrianRobertsMusic” stickers that I’ve been giving away at my gigs. If you’d like a few e-mail me your address and I’ll get them off to you asap. I’m starting to see them on cars and scooters all over the place. Very cool!
Al Stewart who sang “Year of the Cat” recently performed in Key West, and I was lucky enough to meet him and get a quick photo. You can find it on my media page. What a great show.
Speaking of photos, I have many new posted here on the site, as well as on my Myspace page. If you haven’t become my friend now’s the time! Check them out.
And finally I’d like to share with you that I received my very first royalty check from BMI for commercial radio airplay for my tune “Santa’s Headed for the Keys”. That really made my day last month when I opened it. Yeah Baby!
Stay tuned
July 4, 2007
Wow, time flies when you’re building a house. We’re getting closer, but not there yet. I don’t think it’ll ever stop!On the music front I’ve been real busy with my weekly gigs here in the Keys. Sloppy’s has been a riot every Tuesday with cruise ships coming into Key West (Sloppy Joes Live Webcam), and the Looe Key Tiki Bar has been great as well.I was asked by U.S.1 radio’s Bill Becker to participate in this year’s Underwater Music Festival which is held at Looe Key. Music is actually played underwater with special Lubell speakers for people to experience. I ended up writing a song called “Theresa Turtle” that was inspired by my daughter’s stuffed animal by the same name. I’m recording it this week, and I’l be performing it live on US1 radio next Saturday July 14th at 12:00 p.m.
Happy 4th of July!

Hey there and thanks for checking out my site. Still in a state of flux here on Big Pine Key with our home renovation, but a lot of progress has been made, and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Unfortunately, that tunnel is pretty long. We’re hoping to be back home mid summer.
Lots of new gig photos have been posted on the media page- I try to get them to my webmaster as quick as possible. Most of them are from Sloppy Joes- and there are more to come this week.
I was lucky enough to get my picture in this month’s issue of Travelhost- a great magazine that is available Keys wide and has listings for everything from music to hotels, attractions and restaurants. Very cool.
Looks like I’ll be continuing my Tuesdays at Sloppy Joe’s through the summer. You can tune in by going to www.sloppyjoes.com from 12:00 p.m to 4:45 p.m.
Lastly, I’ve started a MySpace page. the address is www.myspace.com/brianrobertsmusic. It’s a bit bare right now, but I’ll be putting on some of my music that’s not yet available on cd. If you’re on MySpace check it out, and become a friend!

Three, two, one- Happy New Year!!!
Well, better late than never. I just got back online the other day- we’re doing a home renovation/addition and things are crazy around here, but going along pretty well. Thanks again to everyone who purchased Christmas Music over the holiday season. I really enjoyed doing all the televison, newspaper, and radio promotion for the cd- another thanks to everyone who had me on their show, or wrote an article on my cd. I’ll have some great video clips here on the site of some of my local t.v. appearances from last month shortly.
You can watch me perform live at Sloppy Joe’s every Tuesday starting at noon by clicking on www.sloppyjoes.com
Let me know you’re watching and I’ll give you a shout out live on the net!

Lots going on this week. First, I’m happy to report that I’m ranking in at #2 on Sonicbids.com’s top booked artist list. Sonicbids.com is an awesome website for musicians, with over 80,000 members. I’m proud to be associated with them!
On the local front, I appeared this week on Comcast channel 19’s Monday newscast with Bill Hoebee. On Tuesday, Bill played my version of “Christmas Is The Time To Say I Love You” on his morning radio show on WAIL 99.5. Thanks Bill!
Rude Girl and Molly Blue had me on their morning show on WEOW 92.7 on Wednesday morning- what a blast we had in the studio- those two rock!
I’ll also be on WKEY 93.5 with Bryan Shine on Thursday morning at 7 a.m., and with Cal Sutphin on WFFG 1300 on Friday morning. Next week I’ll join Cal on Tuesday during Comcast channel 19’s local newscast. I’ll be reporting news, which is somthing I’ve never done- yikes!
All of the new radio and tv interviews will be put on the media page as I get them.

A few more radio stations have included “Santa’s Headed for the Keys” to their rotation- Island 107.1 WIIS keywestradio.com, 94.3 WGMX, and 1300 AM WFFG. I’ll be a guest on 1300’s morning show “From The Water” with Cal Sutphin on Monday December 11th at 9 a.m.
I’m also pleased to be participating in this year’s REEF RELIEF ONLINE AUCTION. Please consider purchasing Christmas Music through their website with proceeds going to an important cause here in the Florida Keys. Check out the auction here.

Things are heating up this week in Key West for Fantasy Fest. The Pretenders Rockit Band is ready to wow the crowd this Thursday at the Pretenders in Paradise event. I’ll be singing Queen’s “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”, as well as playing bass throughout the show. Be forewarned - pictures will be posted!
And about my trip to New York… Last month I travelled to NYC to see some shows and hang out for a few days. I wanted to see Les Paul again, so I went to his 8 p.m. show at the Iridium Jazz Club while I was there. Les(age 91) and his group were really spectacular- and when they were done the manager told me I could come back after the second show that evening and give Les my Christmas Music cd. As I waited to get back into the club at about 11:30, I was told by the manager that Les’s second show was going a bit late because Jimmy Buffett was downstairs singing with the group. “Oh my God, I’m from the Florida Keys” was my excited response to him (thinking he’d let me right back in to catch the last few minutes of the show), and his response to me was- “that’s great- I’ll let you in when they’re done”.
A few minutes later I was back in the club waiting in line to meet Les when Jimmy came out from backstage. Luckily, I had 2 of my Christmas cd’s with me. I approached Jimmy and yelled that I was his dentist’s neighbor. It immediately caught his attention! He told me he could tell by my beautiful teeth. I gave him my cd and got back into line to meet the Legend Les Paul, who was kind enough to talk to every single person who waited in line. Very cool. That was the last night of my trip, and I have to say it was quite surreal.

Hi and welcome to my new website. Many thanks to Aleven Music Marketing and Design for putting it together. There’s new music, video, and photos for you to check out. I’ve started taking photos at my gigs- thanks to all of you who wanted to be a part of the new site!
Well, it’s October and things are busy. My regular gigs are going great-especially at the Looe Key Tiki Bar on Thursday nights. I’m seeing many of you coming back week after week. It’s really a cool spot to hang.
I’m also rehearsing again with the Pretenders in Paradise Band. we’ll open the big show (Pretenders in Paradise) at the Pier House on Oct 26. This is a major event for Fantasy Fest here in Key West- $10,000 in prizes. It’s a show not to be missed- unbelievable costumes, awesome music, and the most energetic crowd. You’ll be so happy you went.
I’ll be updating this news section regularly. Stay tuned for a detailed report from my recent trip to NYC last month - including my brushes with Jimmy Buffett and Les Paul.
